Sound Blaster or 100% Sound Blaster compatible sound card
DOS 5.0 or higher
Microsoft or compatible mouse
2 mgs of free hard disk space
Run INSTALL off of the CD, and it will install on a drive with enough
space - 2 megs needed for the demo. The install program will then launch
the Miles setup program. After this is done, you will be at the hard disk
in the ANGEL directory. Type ANGEL to start the game. The CD must remain
in the drive that you installed from.
The UNIVBE which is on the CD is the new version 5.1a. If you experience
problems with the video, try running it before ANGEL. ANGEL requires
a SVGA video card with 1meg, and VESA compatibility. If your video
card does not provide VESA compatibility, or does not implement it
correctly, UNIVBE should be able to help.
If the CD is removed from the drive when the game is reading off of the
CD, or if it attempts to read the CD when the CD drive is not ready, the
game may lock up. If this happens, insert the CD and try hitting 'R'.
If that doesn't work then you'll have to reboot.
This is basically a looping demo. The intro will start, and then
interactive part will begin. After you are done with the interactive
part (completed the tasks or are killed), a montage will play. Once
the montage is done it all starts over again. You can quit during
the interactive part by pressing ALT-Q, as long as no movie is currently
playing.
The INET option is disabled during a playing movie.
Load game, Save game, and Quit game are disabled in the demo.
Playing the game: Interaction is all done through the mouse. To navigate
you move the mouse around until the cursor changes into an arrow type
of cursor. You press the left mouse button to navigate to the
direction suggested by the arrow. To open your inventory, click on OPTION
and then click on the suitcase. Items can be selected by clicking on them.
The INET button will display the faces of people you know. Click on the
face to get some info on them.
